Victoria Freze - July Reveal

Hello dear Memory Maze fans!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy it! Victoria is here and I'm going to share with you a couple of projects.

Cute Dude

First one is a layout about my friend's son and his acquaintance with hedgehog. I have no child yet that's why I often ask friends to share photos of their kids and create some layouts or mini albums. Fortunately, they are happy to share them with me :)

I used a Cool Dude chipboard as a title and covered it with green and brown acrylic paints. I really love small pieces of chipboard, they are so versatile and can be used both for layouts and cards. In layouts such chipboard can be used not only as a title but as a subtitle as well.

Small chipboard is awesome for layouts with small photos that I use often in my projects.

Green CD cover

Next project is CD cover for photos which was taken among green trees, bushes and grass. I used Vintage corner chipboard here and covered it with white gesso.

I created a cluster of chipboard, flowers, leaves and epoxy button. It's simple but really pretty.

Sharm - July DT Reveal

Hi there! Sharm here to share a couple of cards!

First one up is a 'Best Wishes' one. Unlike the contemporary fussy cut card, Ive attempted something different. Using only masking and stamping technique, I've kept the card simple and not altered the chipboard

First, using a mist of my choice, I used a stencil for the masking
Next, I stmped all around the cardstock using a script stamp
Finally, I embellished with a flower and chipboard sentiment

Second one is a Happy Birthday card that uses tonnes of fussy cutting and the chippie sentiment was altered used Donna Salazar Mixed Media Inx

Hilde Aaslund - July DT Reveal

Hello!
As you may have noticed in the shop, Memory Maze provide you with chipboards in almost any size - from itty bitty micro ones, to large 12"*12". In today's post I will focus on the 6"*6" (150 mm x150mm) ones and how you can cut them apart to fit your project better.

Mountain Flora

In my part of the world (Norway) it's summer and the kids are in the middel of their long vacation. We, the adults, don't have as much time off as they do during this period, but we try to use the weekends too, for having some fun together. Two weeks ago I brought my family up in the mountains, and here its' still quite chilly and you can find spots of snow. But if you look closely you find tiny little flowers even here, and some of them are just adorable.
I have cut both a large Doily Chipboard and a Vintage Mirrir Chipboard into two. I placed the doily  pieces on top and bottom of my page and tucked the Mirror pieces behind my photo and other embellies.

Yes, this is the very-long-title on my layout.
My youngest son tried out fruit carving for the very first time on the said mountain trip, but I wanted a less obvious title on my layout...

I have cut a Myahem Chipboard into three pieces, inked it up in black, and tucked the pieces under my photos. If I had left it uncut, most of it would have been covered by the photos and papers and it would have had no effect at all.

The 6"6" chipboards are perfect for cards too. For these cards I have cut a Chicken Wire Chipboard in two and used them as part of the background.
The chicken wire chipboards is left raw, while the sentiment is inked in black.

Kim's Dt reveal.

Hi Everyone

Kim form the Uk here with July's projects, this month I have really enjoyed using some of the new chippies from Memory Maze and wow they have been so gorgeous and huge.
This First card is an Easel card as we call them and I Used the Prima Engraver pad to make the backing designs.  I  used The wedding 1 couple in black and gold as a silhouette and the Time clock piece in a lantern too, I added metal Hands and some extra metal embellishments through out the
card.

here is a close up of the Measurement bar i used to hold the easel open.
And of course the gorgeous clock.

The clock                         &                 This is the Wedding couple.
................................................................................................

The next project Started as lots of small envelopes added together with
small sayings for a birthday  and to appreciate a friendship.
Each of the little card slipped inside its own Pocket all snug.

Here you can see the Happy birthday and the Little flower on the tag all chippie. Also each pocket is
also covered in paper and has flowers on the pretty paper.
You can just see all the pockets with the tags inside here , I also added some small handmade
flowers to the front of the little pocket book.

Here is the front.

This is it for me I hope you liked these projects and enjoyed seeing some of my items, It's been several months since I started this journey and I am so happy to have brought you the items I have made adding the chippie embellishments along the way.

Rebecca July DT Reveal

Once more with Memory Maze Chipboard, its been a busy summer so far, but enjoying the opportunities I have to just sit down and enjoy some card making.

Look Who is 25

I was able to use some of my left over chipboard for this card, and had fun compiling the differant pieces to get the sentence I wanted. Its almost like a puzzle :) Happy Birthday to my little brother!

Celebrate

For this card I used my chipboard a few different ways.

The first technique was actually a border mask. Instead of leaving the actual chipboard on the card, I laid the border on the card, spray misted it, and was left with a gorgeous swirly pattern that the chipboard was able to mask. Its a fun technique and saves chipboard :)

I also spray misted the "Celebrate" arrow, and left the scallop border just plain. So many fun ways to use the chipboard!

Thanks for stopping by!

Erin Reed - July DT Reveal

Hi all!!  It has been a whirl wind for me over here in the USA, busy packing and moving across Texas, right now is just the packing part.  The best part about this move is in my new house I am organizing a brand new scrap space, and if we get the house we want it will be in a whole room to myself!!  Anyway enough of my babbling, on to the good stuff!!

For this month I thought of lots of different ways to use flourishes on your projects.  Not only different flourishes, but different sizes, shapes of the flourish and on cards, layouts, and mini albums.  Flourishes are so versatile that they even work for masculine projects.

........................................................................................................................

Tri-fold Mini

Every year I make a mini album for the grandparents of the kids from the past year.  I do all kinds of different things, this year I found two identical tri-fold mini's in my scrap drawer I had forgotten about as I was purging and packing my scrap apace for our up coming move.  They are from a kit a friend had given me (2 identical kits) that were so old that they stickers in the kit had lost their stickiness, I think the kits are circa 2000 or earlier.  So I salvaged the tri-fold part and set forth to make the ancient become new.

I used the the same papers since I was only covering the fronts of each of the tri-fold it was easy to make identical pages for each grandparent, why recreate the wheel twice?  I did have to alter the flower and brad colors, but everything else is identical.

So here are the bases for the minis I am giving the grandparents.  The only addition is pictures (I have not done it yet since the year is not over yet), and since I have three children with me, one girl and 2 boys, the boys get the green and blue sides and the girl gets the pink and red in the middle.

I added to the left side the wonderful Memory Maze chipboard.  By accident I flipped one of the flourishes upside down when I painted it (painted with gelatos and water), but now I can't decide which direction I like more, they both look great.

Thank You Card

While my husband was deployed to Afghanistan this past year he got numerous boxes and letters from a lady in the States who got his address from her Church.  A couple of the boxes made there way home to us and the kids (who has a blast with them and all the fun goodies she sent along) because he came home early.  As a thank you to her for her kindness she bestowed on my husband I made and mailed this card to her.

I did not want the card to be to bulky for the mail, so the thickest part of the card is the chipboard.  For this chipboard i used Tim Holtz distress ink in Black Soot and just pressed the chipboard into it to give the a slightly distressed look.  I wanted the feel of the card not to be too feminine, so I went for darker colors and a simple and clean feel to the card.

Welcome Home Daddy - Layout

Mike got to come back to the states early from being deployed to help train the next unit replacing their unit in Camp Phoenix.  The bad part was that he was 3 hours away for over a month, so close yet so far away.  During this time I took our youngest child (Catherine) to see him and spend a weekend with him.  Catherine has last seen her daddy when she was 2 weeks old, and even though we Skyped and talked on speaker phone so she could hear his voice, she had not seen him in the flesh for 8 months.  We were all a bit worried how she was going to react to him, as with every other male that tired to hold her (including grandfathers) she cried.  Within minutes of Mike walking through the door he laid on the bed next to her and I got this wonderful picture of the two of them.  Neither could stop smiling, it was such a sweet and wonderful moment to watch, father and daughter together at last.

I wanted the flourish to speak for itself, it is just so pretty that all I wanted to do was enhance it with some ink, a few embellishments, and a picture.  I had so much to say with this picture that in the end it would have taken up the entire layout to write the story, so instead I wrote nothing and decided to write the story when I posted on-line, sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.
