Art Journal page ... by Lynn Good

Hi can you believe we are in March already - I dont know where this year has gone already.  Today I have created an art journal page.  I have recently got into art journaling - I find it relaxing and a great way to test out products together and also to scrap and get messy without using any family photos.

I started by covering my art journal double page with scraps of  book pages, music pages, map paper and wrapping paper.  I have used a matte gel medium to adhere them to the paper.

I have then started on the layers with Lindy Stamp gang Inks.  I dry between each layer and then add more until I get the colour density that I am happy with.

I have pulled apart the Memory Maze Chipboard little butterflies - they come apart if you spray the chipboard with a little water and gently pull.  I have pulled a littler rougher as I didnt want exact butterflies - more of a grunge butterfly!  I have applied white gesso and then the same Lindy Stamp Gang colours that I used on the pages.

The Memory Maze chipboard swirls are from the wrought iron collection and these were embossed using Stampendous embossing enamel - Shabby Blue.
For the light bulb, I have used a combination of Stampendous Aged Black enamel and Lindy Stamp Gang Hibiscous Rose Orange.

The picture I have used is from a Pion Design paper collection - From Grandmas Attic.  I have used all these to create the layout.

Here are some close ups:

Mixed Media tag with Candy

Welcome everyone.
My turn again for the Memory Maze design team project.
I have created a tag for this month it measures 3 1/8 x 6 3/8 inches.

I am trying very hard to use up my scraps I have used the
 Kaisercraft Coastal Escape collection.
I cut the bottom paper at 6x3 inches then another piece at 5 3/4 x 2 inches.
Glue these to the front of the tag, oh firstly go around the edges with
an edge distresser. I also added a shell tag under the top paper.
I used a mask from Memory Maze and some light texture paste
and applied this to the top of my tag.
I then went and pulled out the circle piece with the mermaid on it and the shells,
 starfish and the seaweed.
I covered all these with some white paint, anything will do I just added it
so the colour will stand out more.
I used some Tim Holtz distress crayons, on the mermaid I added some
black marks to make scales and hair.
I also added some of the colours around and splashed them onto the tag.
In the collectables was a large shell so I cut down the centre a few times
to make this fan out a bit.
I cut 3 pieces of the web ribbon at 2 inches then cut down these as well.
Pleated them uo and glued them to the bottom of the shell.
Glue this onto the bottom of the tag then add the shells,
mermaid piece the saying and the twine.

Scrapbook layout ... by Lynn Good

Hi there, before February ends, I thought I would share with you a layout that I created of my grandmother and her brother - I just love the old photos and so pleased that my Mum was interested in our family history and got a heap of photos.

I have used the Prima Collection - Love Clippings.    I have used Lindy Stamp Gang starbursts on the background over some stencilling.

The chipboard has been embossed using Lindy Stamp Gang embossing powders - Terra Cotta Rust and Golden Angel Wings.

I used the following Chipboard pieces:

Memorable moments , enjoy every moment, script, doiley ,fancy ,m

Journey by Suzanne Franin

Introducing Suzanne to the Memorymaze design team,
Suzanne is an accomplished scrapbooker and Memorymaze is thrilled that she has come to spend some time with us .
Please leave her some love and share her post.

Hello everyone I'm Suzanne

I'm lucky enough to be chosen to be on the Memory Maze Team

I'm here to share my first project with you I hope you like it

I created this with four mini canvases  that I have  taped together
then painted them with black gesso

I have  painted the back of the transparency with some Opal Magic Alchemy paints
by Finnabair in four different colors for a magical effect.

Once the paint was dry I glued it onto the canvases then heated
the transparency so it shrunk around the canvas - that way I was able to ensure
there were  no air bubbles once the glue had dried.

I am working with the Memorymaze Tree of Hearts, and the together word sheet.
I used some rusty paper paint and some
brown acrylic paint to give it and old worn look.

I have gone ahead and painted the small hearts with the Alchemy paints as well.

I used a White Big Brush Pitt marker to colour the word Journey

I have added some little gems for some sparkle
and some cotton for some texture

These are the Memorymaze chipboard pieces i have used on this piece

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will be back soon

'The Wild' by Elisa Ablett

Hi everyone,

My turn up on the Memory Maze Blog with a mixed media 'nature' inspired layout featuring plenty of gorgeous Memory Maze products. I have added a list of the products used to the bottom of this post along with the links.

I wanted to create a combination of a natural 'rainforest' looking layout featuring natural items like twine, feathers and twigs and also all the colours of the rainforest; the browns and the greens.

Here is my layout -

Here are some close ups of the finer details.

TIP - colour your chipboard leaves directly with a Distress stain in green and then while wet add a bronze distress paint on the end of the leaf to add extra colour and dimension.

Thanks for Stopping by the blog today, make sure you leave some love :-)
