Fun with Journal and mixed media sheets

For my first Dt post I have had some fun with the Journal/mixed media sheets.

Check out the designs here....

I have used a couple of different sheets to do my goth girl tags.

This one I called Raven...

And her sister Willow....

There are quite a few themes and designs to choose from and they great for use in your art journals as well.

I fussy cut out the elements from the sheet and using paper tole techniques made them into 3D tags.

Thanks for looking

My very first upload {snow angel}

Hi everyone,

I am super excited to be sharing here regularly @ Memory Maze thank you Sally and the team for inviting me to join in creating with this awesome Chipboard and fab Design Team!

I love to create my own backgrounds so I hope you will find some inspiration in the use of colour and patterns during my time here on the design team.

My first Layout is a layout using a super cool Snow photo I nabbed from my daughters Instagram I love the colours in this photo and it was definitely the inspiration for the background of this layout.

Its has been freezing cold down my way so this layout seemed fitting I hope you are inspired!

I have used 12" Marshmallow to create my own background using acrylic paints, stencils, texture tools and a Gelli Plate to create the perfect background for my layout. I have used black cardstock to adhere a mat around my photo and machine stitched with red cotton to blend in with the background. It may be hard to see but I have used a glitter glass bead paste through a snowflake design stencil to add that extra winter feel. To give even more dimension I have added gauze and a shimmering white star detailed tulle underneath the photograph

To create the title of this layout I have used Memory Maze's Chipboard title "ANGEL"

I painted the chipboard title Turquoise to coordinate with my daughters Snow Jacket and Beanie teamed it with white Thickers for the word SNOW.....

To complete the layout I have added pieces of random washi tape to the background and a Black Hambly Transparency frame stitched with red wool to frame the important journaling on the layout. To frame the layout I have hand drawn the edges with a black fude ball pen and added some random background stamping with black ink.

I hope you enjoyed my post thanks of taking the time to read!

Free Spirit-By Leanne Nankervis

Hi Everyone !
Leanne back to share a layout with you today, using the wonderful Memory Maze products.

Free Spirit Layout

We had a day out in Melbourne visiting some street art, so many good places and little laneways to see all the wonderful art.We took along one of Holly's little friends and took some happy snaps, and this was one of them that I thought I would share.

In my background I used the Memory Maze stencil J3109 with denim distress ink.

I used the Memory Maze chipboard title Free Spirit, I then painted it with liquitex paint and used a background stamp over it with white ink. I then used some of the Faber Castell big brush pens, to fill in some of the pattern in black and cobalt blue. Once dried I used glossy accents over it to make it glossy and shiny.

Steampunk Canvas by Lynn Good

Hi, Lynn here with a canvas that I have created using items found in my sons room after he left home.  This is my memory canvas!!!!

I started using a stencil and Prima Gloss Medium on the canvas in the areas I knew would not be covered by the computer motherboard.  I then began gluing all the things I found - Computer memory board, dominoes, cd, buttons, screws, bolts, nuts, bearings to name a few.  I then added metal embellishments and chipboard pieces.

Once the Prima heavy duty gel I used to glue everything down with was dry I covered everything with black gesso.  In hindsight it would have been easier to gesso in stages of layering!

Once the two coats of gesso were dry I began colouring using Prima Art Alchemy paints and Prima Art Alchemy Sparks paints. Layers and layers of paints and finishing touches with Micro and Glass Beads and Prima Art Alchemy Wax. - a list of of all the colours I have used are at the bottom of the blog.
Here are some close ups:
