{Love of my life}

Hey there crafty friends! Welcome back to the Memory Maze blog, Melissa A here with you today and with it still being February (the month of love), I have a lovely romantic layout for you.

I started this layout by adding some script stamping to the background on the areas where I was planning to work with.

I used Mintay's 'Love Letters' elements which I fussy cut and arranged around my photo.

I used a beautiful chipboard frame from Memory Maze and added the separate chipboard sides to it, which matched perfectly and I covered them with some beautiful shimmery embossing powder.

I attached some pretty Prima flowers, as well as some flowers & leaves from Memory Maze as well.

For my chipboard title, I used some Rose Gold metallique wax and I added some pretty white lace trimming for a little extra something.

I hope you liked my latest creation and it has inspired you to create something special too. I will be back again with some more crafty inspiration soon. Until then...happy crafting! :)

Under the Sea

This week has felt a little like being under water! This week I was sitting in the craft cave looking around at the piles of papers, sprays, pencils, stamps, more paper in a pile, old books to tear up and drawers with bits in it that I am not sure when was the last time I had opened them, and thinking what could I offer on this post. That is how this creation cam about, using my stash, looking in boxes and drawers that hadn't been looked in for too long, to find old treasures and make them new!

I created this journal page using dylusions sprays and stencils for the background. I initially sprayed down the colours, then used a darker colour through the stencil. I added another layer with a different stencil and then let it air dry, only blotting off the very large puddles.

Once it was dry, I stamped onto the page, highlighting in white posca pen. I also stamped out some mushrooms and a fish onto a separate piece of card before colouring and cutting it out adhering to the page with a glue stick. I also sprayed the seahorse and butterfly wings with Dina Wakley acrylic gloss spray for a bit of added shine. I positioned the seahorse with wing onto the page and drew around it in a pencil before removing it and colouring in the background with a black posca pen in order for the seahorse to stand out.

From there I decided I really needed to start using up more of my stash so went into the ribbon and fabric draw pulling out various textured ribbons and one piece of fabric I cut into strips. I arrnaged them on the page to give texture and focus to the seahorse before gluing them down.

Items used:

Memory maze seahorse chipboard

Dylusions dye ink sprays in lime, cut grass, dirty martini and calypso teal

Just Precious

Hey there everyone, thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my creations. On this layout I used a couple of amazing Memory Maze frames which I added some pewter embossing powder and a set of various leaves covered in chocolate brown embossing powder. I simply added white emossing powder to my sentiment to make it stand out. I tucked these amongst all my fussy cut flowers and images. The gorgeous papers I used are from Studio 73 :)

{Life is a puzzle}

Hey there crafty people!

Welcome back to the Memory Maze blog, Melissa A here with you today and I have a new DT layout for you inspired by the fantastic puzzle pieces chipboard available from Memory Maze!

The card stock I used for this layout is from 3Quarter Designs' 'De ja Vu' collection.
It already had a brilliant background, so all I added to it was some black inked circles.

I used a large chipboard frame for my photo, which I covered using silver heat activated foil.

I arranged some flowers around the frame, which are also now available from Memory Maze, as well as some fluffy flower stems.

I attached some background chipboard pieces, which I covered using embossing powder and attached some large puzzle piece chipboard under and around the flowers, which I coloured using distressed oxides which when water is added to, create a great effect.

I cut out some yellow butterflies from some Memory Maze cuttable sheets and attached them randomly around the layout.

I attached some beads around the frame and also weaved them between the flowers.
To finish off I added some coloured beads, glitter to the flowers, some twine made into bows, some yellow mica fragments and a chipboard title which I covered using embossing powder.

I really hope you liked my latest layout and it has inspired you in your own creations. I will be back again very soon with some more inspiration. Until then...Happy crafting! :)

Sweet Dreams - Gangster Kitty

Good afternoon team, Fiona here, back from some time off. Today I wanted to share my creation using Dina Wakley gloss sprays for the background and to make quick work of colouring the Memory Maze chipboard.

I started off with my Art by Marlene 300gsm watercolour paper from the A4 album. I sorted through some of the Tim Holtz layers - urban collection and picked out some pieces I liked then glued them to the paper.

As I already had a photo picked out for this page I wanted to use the warm colours of the gloss spray to go with it.

I then sprayed in layers of lightest to darkest colour not letting it dry before adding the next colour so they could fuse together. I let that page dry without a heat gun, it was a rather hot day in the craft cave anyhow so it didn't take too long before it was good to go.

Whilst waiting I sprayed the chipboard word sweet dreams, which I had cut apart in order to place them top and bottom of the photo. after that I found some dictionary paper on my table which I had used as a stamp off page, ripped it to a size slightly bigger than my photo then stuck it down. I decided that as my little kitten - Kevin, is so cute (and very innocent when asleep) that he should have a little love heart. I broke open the pack of family tree Memory Maze chipboard and sprayed the love heart in both night (navy blue) and white acrylic gloss spray.

The finished page below.

This was a fun page to create with plenty of easy techniques and also using items close at hand

Items used:

Memory Maze chipboard - 'Sweet Dreams' and 'family tree' (love heart)

Dina Wakley acrylic gloss spray - white, cheddar, lemon, apricot, magenta, fuchsia and night

Art by Marlene A4 journal

Tim Holtz urban layers
