New Calendar Kit

Our project today has been brought to you by Sally
Yes the wonderful owner of Memory Maze has taken some time out and decorated this fantastic new calendar, that has just been released.

New 2014 Calendar Kit at Memory Maze.  See it in the Off the Page section and new  October.
The kit consists of the basic calendar ,butterfly  sheets ,Calendar word , 2014 , chipboard flower  Bicycle and calendar.

Firstly I covered the 2 solid pieces of the calendar kit with scrapbooking paper using PVA glue.

I then coloured all of the chipboard embellishments, letters and numbers to suit my colour way.
I did this using stamp pads and paint.
Holes are cut into the pieces for ease of use.
Simply take a pencil and from the front of the calendar push the pencil to the back through the hole.
This can then be tidied up if required.

Decide what you will be using to hang your calendar and determine the length you will require ,
Push through from the front of the piece, and tie at the back. I used a little hot glue to keep the knot tidy at the back.

Now it is time to  create your own design at the top of your calendar. This one is designed for a family or female. We will release a male themed one soon.
I have used  the lily S0274  as a back behind handmade flowers from Scrappers Garden
S0759 Beauty Butterflies  S0025  small flourishes.
All chipboard is part of the kit.

I then sprayed my birthday tags with a glimmer Ink, I chose to hang these with rings you may choose to use ribbon, twine or other medium.
Add your calendar to the  base,
And you are complete.
I had a lot of fun designing this I hope you enjoy making it too.

October Design Team Share Donna O'leary

Hello all my lovelies,   How are you all.  I see the design team have been sharing some AMAZING crafty ideas with their Memory Maze.  Please feel free to leave some comments on the posts you enjoy,  we love to hear back what you like or even an idea that could be added to our posts.   Today I am going to share a mixed media layout of my daughter Amber-Leigh,  I have used lots of different mediums to complete my layout and dress my memory maze chipboard.   Enjoy!

YOUR MAKE MY HEART HAPPY

I have used two different pieces of Memory Maze chipboard on this layout but it looks like more as I have cut my doilies into three different sizes to frame my photo.

Before I cut my chipboard I used my white distress paint to cover the entire piece.  I then decide with my other piece of memory maze chipboard  to stamp it with a font stamp to add interest and finished it off with some distress ink for highlighting.

Here you can see the font stamp, this could be any stamp,  I prefer ones that have small font.  I have used a blue ink to go round the edges and then splattered some more by adding a bit of ink to my craft mat, adding water and picking it up with a paint brush and tapping the brush to where I thought I would like a bit more color.

This last photo shows some of the dollies that I cut to frame my photo.  I love how we can make our stash last a bit longer  by cutting it up.  Do you have any tips for making your stash last a bit longer, we would love to hear from you.

Amanda Lawrence - October - Part 1

Hello all! Can you believe it's October already?! It seems every time I blink it's a new month. Today I am here to share one of my latest Memory Maze pages which showcases a treasured photo of Miss 2 skipping through the grass.

Treasure every Moment

I wanted the photo to really be the focal point of the page, so I decided to cut my background paper into a sunburst pattern and lay it on white cardstock. This draws the eye back to the photo no matter where on the layout you look. I then decided to use Linda's Scribble from the 12x12 sheet to surround my photo.

I used the 'treasure' word from one of the word sheets. I just adore this loopy font and the sheets are such great value for money. I simply coloured it with my silver sharpie before adding it to the page.

I also used some of the filigree leaves that come on the 12x12 sheet with the scribble. You get loads of extras on this sheet, it's jam packed with leaves, butterflies, dragonflies and birds as well. I also coloured these with my silver sharpie pen.

My main floral cluster has more of the filigree leaves in it.

This last detail shot shows how perfect the scribble was for the 4x6 photo I used. I softened the raw chipboard by sponging on a light coat of gesso. It makes it white in appearance but not a stark white you would get if you painted it on.

October Post from Susan

Hi from Susan. I thought that since October is breast cancer awareness month that I would show you a layout that uses the Memory Maze chipboard for that theme. There is no photo on this layout as I made it for a prize for a "Girl's Night In".....but it is very pink!!

A Survivors Journey

I had lots of fun embellishing the chipboard for this layout.

The title was inked and then embossed using opals (like utee)embossing powder. I left areas a bit patchy so the ink could show through.

On the bras I used ink in colorbox rosebud, smooch in sassy pink & 3D glitter glue in hot pink and Couture Creations gems

The words were base coated in colorbox ink in chiffon white then sprayed with perfect pearls in interference red.

I made the scallop border from the breast pieces & of course they had to have sparkly nipples......I drew the line at tassels!! LOL!

Daydream Garden

Last month I was away and missed my DT post for Memory Maze so this month I though I would try and fit as much chipboard as I could into one project.

"Daydream"

This photo was taken by one of my girls out the front of Sallys house (owner of Memory Maze) this canvas is 8x8.

Memory Maze Memory Maze Tree with swirls S0021 has been painted with Gelatos.

Memory Maze Picket Fence, only a third of it was used, using gelatos again but this time in white and grey. Teamed up with some Memory Maze flowers and vines.

Memory Maze Daydream also coloured with gelatos and a couple of vines.

Tracey Campbell's October Reveal

October is one of my favourite months - it is my Birthday month, it is Spring (here in Australia) and Halloween is in October....all great times of the year.
This month my first reveal is of a chipboard title piece which I have water coloured for one of my layouts. As soon as I saw this title I knew exactly what photo I wanted to scrap with it.

Ride the Waves

I simply can not get enough of the Memory Maze Chipboard titles - such great sayings and so easy to modify to suit the project that you are working on.

I wanted to give the title a waterish look so I painted it roughly with water colour paints so that the blue paint would represent a wave running along the bottom.

Laugh Like No-one is Watching

I have taken the step into Pocket Pages - not completely crossed over to just Pocket Pages as I love the creative outlet that I get from a 12x12 page. I have decided that my album will have an accompanying 12x12 and then a Pocket Page. This layout "Laugh Like No-one is Watching" is the first 12x12 in my new Pocket Page Album.
I grabbed the glitter and the micro glass beads for this layout and got messy.
A thin layer of Dimensional Magic then sprinkle with the glitter and beads and ta-da a beautiful shiny butterfly and title.
I did paint the "like no-one is watching with some white gesso" to finish it off.

So now that I have confessed to doing Pocket Pages I suppose I should show you my very first Pocket Page. I am a bit nervous about showing this off as it is my first and I am not 100% sure if I like it or if it needs some more work. What do you think?

Live

I have used a variety of the Memory Maze chipboard designs on this layout - the butterflies, the arrow and the word "live". The micro embellishments that Sally designs are perfect for Pocket Pages.
