June reveal with Alicia Barry

This month we have been set the theme of Winter, and it certainly feels it as I sit here shivering.

Winter Wonderland
For this first one I decided to try something a little bit different. While I was searching for some wintery papers I came across some Christmas papers. I chose to focus on the winter theme of the papers, and the colour scheme was a little more on the masculine side, perfect for my boys.

For the chipboard frame, I inked first, then applied a sparkle dark brown embossing powder over the top. The chipboard corners have been inked in red, then I applied some silver Ferro randomly over the top.

Snow Day
This next one is my daughter on the same ski trip. I have used another 12x12 piece as a background. I've done a few of these now using different designs and I really love how they come together.

The design is so pretty and delicate, so I didn't give it much of a treatment. I just covered it in a couple of coats of gesso.  I did want the decorative title frame to stand out a bit more though, so I painted it with gesso, then applied some dry superfine glitter while it was still wet.

Altered recipe holder
Finally I have made an altered recipe holder with bird cage.  The Vintage board has been gessoed all over, and the birdcage has been treated with pearlescent paint mist in two colours.
